Job Description:This role is responsible for supporting the full development lifecycle of platform architecture, including design, deployment, and debugging activities. The position involves building and maintaining release pipelines that ensure fast yet secure delivery of critical business software into production. It also requires developing and upholding Git-based version control best practices, including effective branching and merging strategies. As a technical lead within an Agile team, the individual will actively participate in all ceremonies such as planning, grooming, product demonstrations, and retrospectives. The role includes automating release deployments across development, test, staging, QA, and production environments using various scripting languages and automation tools. Additional responsibilities include configuring and deploying new sites and applications through configuration management tools like Puppet and Ansible, as well as maintaining, upgrading, patching, and documenting systems using platforms such as Confluence and Jira. The position also assists in designing and maintaining web service infrastructure, analyzes the service stack to recommend improvements, identifies opportunities to streamline and automate processes, and communicates effectively with stakeholders to bridge technical and business requirements. Support for operations is provided as needed to ensure stable and efficient delivery workflows.
The Level 2 Devops Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:- Must be fluent with Git
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux environments (RHEL 6/7/8, RHCSA/RHCE, CentOS)
- Experience with Windows system administration, system monitoring, instrumentation, resiliency
and performance. - Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kuberenetes for automated deployment
preferred. - Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC, etc.).
- Experience with MySQL (Clusters, Replication, and Tuning) and Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus).
- Knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, PCI compliance, etc.
- Familiarity with software development life cycle models, agile, and DevOps programming
methodologies. - Fluent skills in object-oriented programming and experience in at least one programming language,
such as Ruby, C, C++, GO, Python, or Java. - Experience acquiring in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects,
reproduce defects, assess risk, and understand varied customer deployments. - Ability to successfully work with customers, developers, testing, project management, and support
staff. - Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher is required in either Engineering (i.e. Computer, Electrical, Mechanical,
Aerospace, etc.) or Computer Science with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience (excludes
education experience such as Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field). - 5+ years working in an Agile dev environment (excludes education experience such as Bachelor's or
Master degree in relevant field). - 5+ years of system architecture required with a demonstrated ability to read the code and understand
the coding logic to assist in troubleshooting. - 5+ years' experience managing/monitoring AWS cloud and virtualized servers for optimal
performance while working in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment.
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate PolygraphPay Range: 185,000-235,000
