Position Overview:

Are you seeking a challenging environment to grow your career and work with modern technologies that drive enterprise innovation? The Freddie Mac I&CM Data Services Team is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineering Technical Lead, focusing on the support for modernization effort of an Operational data store. This role will focus on leveraging AI technologies as a key component in the modernization process. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience in both backend and frontend development, as well as a strong understanding of data engineering and AI integration.

Our Impact:

Our team is driving the modernization of the organization's trade data capture process by transitioning from traditional batch file transfers to contemporary, real-time data transfer methods into a bi-temporal OLTP data store. AI technologies will be leveraged as key tools to optimize and automate this modernization effort, enhancing data availability, enabling faster decision-making, and strengthening the overall data infrastructure.

Your Impact:
  • Design and implement contemporary data transfer methodologies that seamlessly loads data into a modern OLTP
  • Leverage AI for faster migration, efficient data reconciliation, and smooth user transition
  • Partner with internal collaborators and develop strong stakeholder relationships across architecture, security, networking, platform, and application teams


Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in application development.
  • 8 + years of hand-on experience in languages and frameworks including Java or Python.
  • 3+ years of backend service development, including RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Practical experience integrating AI/ML solutions into data pipelines, complex migrations, and system reconciliation.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (installation, configuration, development).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS mainly) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Background in real-time analytics and event-driven architecture is preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and related technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of data streaming concepts and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple technologies like APIs, Microservices, Event Streaming, Logging & Monitoring, Databases (SQL, NOSQL), Containers, Serverless Frameworks, DevOps, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience required; advanced studies/degree preferred.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $138,000 - $206,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
