Full Job Description
About the Role

This is a first-of-its-kind position on the ground in San Francisco, reporting directly to company leadership, owning the entire local presence and go-to-market motion for an open-source MLOps and AI agent orchestration platform. You sit at the intersection of community building, technical evangelism, and growth, turning community signals into pipeline and reputation into measurable outcomes. The role matters because the SF AI/ML infrastructure scene is where the most influential builders are, and this person is the face and connector in that ecosystem.
What You'll Do
  • Launch and grow a recurring community meetup from zero, targeting the SF ML infrastructure crowd, running events every two weeks.
  • Represent the platform credibly and technically at AI infrastructure meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Bay Area.
  • Build genuine relationships across the community, making introductions and turning conversations into lasting connections.
  • Create and ship technical content including talks, blog posts, social posts, and demo videos grounded in real community observations.
  • Demo a live Python framework in front of technical audiences, answer real questions, and engage credibly with ML engineers without relying on slides.
  • Instrument events and wire product and community signals (Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, enrichment tools) into automated workflows so every conversation becomes a traceable pipeline entry.
  • Act as eyes and ears in the Valley, feeding product and GTM teams with insights on what builders are creating, what frustrates them, and who is evaluating what.
What We're Looking For
  • 2 or more years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM roles, ideally at an early-stage or resource-constrained startup.
  • Proficiency in Python: ability to demo a framework live, read production code, work with APIs, and troubleshoot in front of engineering audiences.
  • Hands-on experience building and instrumenting community engagement funnels using modern GTM stack tools such as CRMs, enrichment platforms, automation workflows, and LLM-based outreach.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and iterating on recurring community events with documented attendance growth and engagement metrics.
  • Experience integrating product usage signals, GitHub activity, and CRM data into automated workflows for lead scoring and follow-up.
  • History of creating and distributing technical content (blog posts, demo videos, conference talks) that drives awareness within developer communities.
  • Ability to translate technical product capabilities into compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with open-source community dynamics, GitHub-native audiences, and contributor engagement strategies.
  • Existing network within the SF AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps communities and a visible personal brand (talks, events, or online presence).
  • Experience with product-led growth or usage-based GTM motions in developer or infrastructure software.
  • Self-directed and comfortable running solo with minimal oversight.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $160,000 to $220,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location

On-site in San Francisco, CA, United States. Presence in the local community is core to the role; remote work is not an option.
