Position Overview

The Desktop Support Administrator III is a senior technical contributor on the IT support team.

Overview

The Desktop Support Administrator III is a senior technical contributor on the IT support team and is the workhorse of the Nektar Service Desk, handling ticket request and onboarding with efficiency. Recommending improvements to support processes, helping with documentation and ensuring a secure, reliable, and high-performance computing environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities
High-Level Technical Support
Serve as the initial point of contact for desktop, laptop, mobile device, and peripheral issues in Nektar's Microsoft Environment.
Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
Endpoint Administration
Feels comfortable working in our endpoint management platforms (e.g., Intune, Autopilot).
Helps enforce endpoint security standards, including antivirus, encryption, and compliance policies.
Systems & Infrastructure Support
Support Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity-related services.
Support and Administer collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, and Exchange Online.
User Experience & Operational Excellence
Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and SOPs.
Lead onboarding/offboarding processes, ensuring seamless user provisioning.
Help Identify opportunities to automate and improve service delivery.
Project Workforce
Contributes to IT projects such as hardware refreshes, security initiatives, cloud migrations, and system upgrades.

Required Qualifications
3-5+ years of experience in desktop support, endpoint administration, or IT systems support.
Expert-level troubleshooting skills across Windows and IOS Platforms.
Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune, Autopilot).
Solid understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and identity management.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
Strong documentation, communication, and customer-service skills.

Nektar currently anticipates the base salary for the Desktop Systems Administrator III to range from $120,000 to $145,000 annually for candidates in the Bay Area and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate location and qualifications for the role, including education and experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan, depending in part on company and individual performance and at the Company's discretion. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on the market survey data.
