SUMMARY
The Desktop Engineering Support Manager leads the strategic planning, development, and management of new startups and on-site operations (e.g. start ups). This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of technology systems while aligning IT initiatives with business objectives. Key responsibilities include managing IT teams, overseeing remote business operations, driving digital transformation, ensuring cybersecurity, and managing IT Project budgets.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the strategic planning and execution of the organization's IT initiatives in alignment with business goals
- Oversees the team, strategy, and infrastructure responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining startups and new business locations
- Oversee the daily operations of IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, and applications at field operations
- Manage and mentor Desktop Engineering staff; fostering professional development and ensuring high team performance
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure system security, availability, and efficiency
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect organizational data and systems
- Plan, manage, and monitor IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to modernize technology platforms and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with senior leadership and departmental stakeholders to identify technology needs and provide strategic solutions
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovations that enhance productivity and scalability
- Monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness and reliability of IT services and infrastructure
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS- 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant professional experience may be considered
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, IT infrastructure, technical support, or a related information technology function preferred
- Two or more years of experience leading employees, technical teams, projects, or technology implementations preferred
- Experience supporting technology deployments for new locations, business startups, field operations, or geographically dispersed work environments preferred
- Working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, Windows operating systems, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, software installation, troubleshooting, and endpoint support
- Experience with endpoint-management and software-deployment platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager, or comparable tools preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, device management, user access, security groups, and related enterprise technologies preferred
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices such as iPads, tablets, computers, and mobile devices.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
