Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Designer II will be a critical team member working on projects with a focus on existing building reuse inclusive of rehabilitation of historic buildings, additions to existing buildings, renovation of existing buildings and adaptive reuse of buildings of all ages. Designer II will work with teams on all phases of a project from feasibility studies through design and construction administration.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with Los Angeles based teams focusing on existing buildings across all building typologies.
  • Engage with clients and consultants as an active member of the team during meetings and presentations.
  • Work with teams to develop detailed sets of drawings.
  • Confirm existing building information by performing site and building investigations and detailed building crawls
  • Research existing buildings through review of historic documentation, public records and site evolution through imagery.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3-8 years of experience related to existing building renewal and revitalization.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture
  • Experience on project teams focused on existing buildings to program, conceptualize, and document projects.
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and public presentation skills.
  • Exceptional skills in Revit, AutoCAD and visualization software
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.
  • Individual who has passed the ARE, or plans to complete in the near term.
  • A commitment to the principles of sustainable design inclusive of Net Zero Carbon and Net Zero Energy and experience or interest integrating them on specific projects.
  • Versatile, self-motivated and articulate.
  • Passion for being part of a growing team devoted to having an impact through design.
