THE OPPORTUNITY BV Glazing is seeking an experienced Designer to join our growing Commercial Design team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed design packages, shop drawings, and fabrication documentation for commercial curtain wall projects across North America. Working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Production teams, you will transform architectural concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions while ensuring project quality, accuracy, and schedule requirements are achieved. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Produce detailed curtain wall shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D design models using AutoCAD and Inventor
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Coordinate drawing revisions with Engineering, Project Management, and Production teams
- Support Design Assist, mock-ups, system development, and value engineering initiatives
- Resolve design-related issues throughout fabrication and construction
- Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control, and project documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, Building Science, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of curtain wall design experience within the commercial glazing or building envelope industry
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, fabrication methods, and installation practices
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; Autodesk Inventor experience is highly preferred
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings
- Experience producing fabrication drawings and coordinating with manufacturing teams
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple commercial projects in a deadline-driven environment
SALARY RANGE$100,000 - $125,000 annually
