About Our SearchWe are currently seeking a Designer to join our Senior Living and Affordable Housing Studio in Baltimore. Our next team member will have excellent communication, design sensibility, graphic, and visualization skills. This individual will collaborate closely with and support the design and technical project teams throughout the design process to contribute to the successful development and execution of architectural projects.
We are looking for a creative, curious, and motivated designer who is excited to explore ideas, communicate them visually, and continue developing their design skills through collaboration and mentorship.
About The Position- Develop and modify design concepts, narratives, 3D renderings, virtual reality presentations, etc., as needed to effectively convey design intent to clients
- Communicate architectural ideas through sketches, diagrams, 3D models, renderings, and presentation graphics
- Participate in design-focused visioning sessions and presentations to clients, community groups, jurisdictional groups, architectural review boards, etc.
- Contribute to conceptual site planning and the exploration of relationships between buildings, landscape, circulation, and context
- Collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively with other team members
- Develop schematic design drawings for our projects
- Contribute to the development and exploration of architectural concepts across a variety of project and building types
- Explore multiple design options and contribute to compelling visual storytelling and design presentations
- Utilize and explore emerging design and visualization technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to support design exploration and communication
About You- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture is required
- Interest in pursuing professional licensure and continued professional development
- 0-3 years of experience in the architectural field
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Senior Living, Affordable Housing and/or Hospitality projects preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Strong design sensibility and demonstrated ability to communicate architectural ideas visually
- Strong graphic and presentation skills with an ability to communicate ideas through sketches, diagrams, 3D models, renderings, and presentation graphics
- Collaborative team member with a willingness to learn, contribute, and grow
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, and SketchUp, and related architectural design and visualization software
- Familiarity with or interest in emerging AI-assisted design and visualization tools is a plus

Maryland Statement The projected base salary for this full-time position is $75,000-$105,000. Hord Coplan Macht's salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, as well as the individual's education, experience, and skill sets. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of HCM's total compensation package for employees.
