The Design Release Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, advance product & quality planning (APQP), and production release of a system/component within Fuels Systems: Fuel/Urea tanks and fuel/urea delivery modules.
Other responsibilities will include quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and other efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management.
The Design Release Engineer will interact with suppliers and will work closely with internal and external groups such as vehicle program team, testing & prototype labs, CAE engineers, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants.
Basic Requirements: - Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and Diesel/Urea Systems.
- Proficiency in English (write, listen, and speak) is a requirement.
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication & organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
Preferred Requirements:- Automotive product engineering experience.
- Injection molded, blow molded Fuel/Urea tank design.
- Knowledge of Fuel/Urea Tanks, FDM, and UDM's virtual simulations are highly recommended.
- Fuel Delivery Module and/or Urea Delivery Module design knowledge are recommended.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Reactive Methodology, preferred Belt certification.
- General understanding of fasteners/torque.
- General understanding of GD&T.
- General understanding of NX, Teamcenter, PLM.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
- Driving and Travel Requirements for NA applicants: Will be required to drive a company car.
A valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
