What you'll do:Provide architectural design for capital expenditure and tenant improvement projects, including visioning, preliminary/final design and production of construction documents.

  • Manage R&R's interior design team (Spark Design) and serve as a main point of contact between subsidiaries.
  • Provide architectural design for capital expenditure and tenant improvement projects, including visioning, preliminary/final design and production of construction documents.
  • Delegate incoming projects and assist with project prioritization, working closely with ownership, brokers, pre-construction team, and design staff.
  • Serve as an internal expert on code compliance, BOMA standards, Autodesk Revit, and provide technical support to lead process/quality control standards.
  • Provide architectural design for capital expenditure and tenant improvement projects, including visioning, preliminary/final design and production of construction documents.
  • Review and sign construction plans/documents when required to be sealed by the local jurisdiction. Ensure all plans under direct supervision are compliant with applicable codes and governmental health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee coordination with outside vendors to ensure product availability, consistency, and preferred pricing for finish selection standards.
  • Stay up to date on trends in workplace design, prepare presentations and present to ownership, subsidiaries, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist on development projects requiring vertical construction, including new development, redevelopment, capital expenditure, and larger tenant improvement projects.
  • Assist with internal design charrettes and client management on build-to-suit project opportunities
  • Manage external teams including architecture and engineering consultants on development and larger tenant construction projects. Manage external MEP engineers on large renovation and maintenance projects.
  • Review engineering, architectural, and interior design plans and specifications (including submittals, RFI's, etc) by others for accuracy, quality, and scoping.
  • Prepare and maintain all required paperwork as determined by the company policies and procedures.
  • Must be licensed architect in Iowa/Nebraska, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Drives to all R&R properties and various locations as the position requires.

What it takes to join our team: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Architecture or related field of study; preferred 7 to 12 years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Commercial experience required, some residential architecture experience a plus.
