Position Summary:

The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager leads a team of mathematically and mechanically minded engineers with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, possessing detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles and able to find creative solutions to technical problems. The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager meets with external clients to determine design requirements, plans and executes the design of mechanical devices, with the design team develops and test prototypes, and works closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
  • Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs and guiding the design team through their own designs.
  • Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
  • Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics to support the design team.
  • Managing the team's project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Coordinating with internal and external clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Preparing technical reports, supporting with design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
  • Collaborate with operations team including manufacturing and quality engineers to resolve complex product issues.

Required Experience:
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience within the manufacturing industry, preferably in aerospace.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks.


Level of Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • PE certification is preferred.


For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $120000 to $160000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
