Chipton-Ross is seeking an Design Engineer for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)Harness design experience using Zuken E3 is a plus.
Must have 3+ years of experience designing Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) using Creo parametric.
Must have 3+ years of CCA DESIGN EXPERIENCE.
Must have at least 3 years of hands on experience with Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product cycles
Must have a Bachelor degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Strong problem solving, communication, and project management skills are a must, as is the ability to produce high quality design documentation and guide test and integration activities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESRole will involve connector and component selection and layout on CCA, IDX file creation and release of all resulting drawings and documentation using Windchill.
Designs major components, or major portions of a functional system, or technically advanced prototype, promotional or specific products.
Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products.
Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAccredited Bachelor degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
