Job DescriptionYou will be the Design Engineer / Checker - Level 3 for the Build to Package Verification Process and Compliance team which is responsible for ensuring the integrity, completeness, and compliance of F-35 engineering designs and 3-D models.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Design Engineer / Checker - Level 3 you will be responsible for acting as a critical quality gate, reviewing designs, verifying geometry, and confirming that deliverables meet contractual, company, and program requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate F-35 designs and 3-D models for compliance with specifications, standards, and downstream needs.
- Apply GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) and ensure drawings follow ASME Y14.100.
- Perform model-centric verification, confirming full definition, FSDA compliance, and readiness for downstream processes.
- Generate concise check reports, non-conformance reports, and maintain traceability matrices.
- Collaborate with design engineers, configuration managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, equivalent experience/ combined education considered, with 2 years of professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of engineering design or design checking or quality assurance experience with a strong CAD focus, preferably on advanced fighter aircraft programs. Working experience with Full-Sized Determinant Assembly (FSDA) modeling practices.
- Proficient user of Siemens' NX CAD system.
- Working knowledge and practical application of ASME Y14.5 GD&T along with familiarity of ASME drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a model centric environment and perform model based verification.
- Proficient with PC operations, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and PLM tools.
- Must be a US Citizen; this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired skills- Working experience with Siemens' TeamCenter PLM tools.
- Mono-based or mono-detail design practices experience.
- Experience with Full Sized Determinant Assembly (FSDA) designs.
- Knowledge of DoD contract requirements and MIL STD documentation.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management.
- Working knowledge and practical application of ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing practices.
- Ability to develop check scripts/macros to automate routine verification tasks.
- Very detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast paced, deadline driven team settings.

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
