  • Present design concepts clearly at various stages to senior designers and internal teams
  • Maintain and update seasonal boards, both physical and digital
  • Collaborate with merchandising, product development, and tech design to ensure brand consistency
  • Support design team prep for meetings including sketch and prototype reviews

Full Job Description
Level/Title position: Design Director - White Label, Men's Wovens
Reports into: Head of Men's Design

Job Summary: Rag & Bone is looking for a Design Director to lead the design and development of the White Label Wovens business, reporting to the Head of Men's Design.

Responsibilities:
  • Research: Provide trend & vintage research based on seasonal inspiration and brand lifestyle direction
  • Design: Set and own original sketches, color-ups, and material suggestions for the White Label Outerwear, Tailoring, Non-Denim Bottoms, and Shirting categories - setting design direction for the wovens line.
  • Development: Complete techpacks/design sheets for tech hand-offs, making sure they are accurate & clear for technical design team. Additionally oversees seasonal trim design & development.
  • Fitting: Attend weekly fittings from prototype-production - ensuring fit, construction, and material accuracy at each product stage
  • Presentation: Present design concepts at sketch, prototype, and SMS stages to the Head of Men's Design and Creative Director. Clearly communicate inspiration & ideas to the internal design team and cross-functional partners.
  • Organization: Create and maintain seasonal boards (physical & digital versions); keeping boards consistently updated after meetings & fittings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional team members in merchandising, product development, and tech design to ensure brand alignment
  • Teamwork: Support design team as needed to organize and prep for meetings, ie: sketch reviews, proto reviews, market reviews - using key dates and calendar set up with the SVP & Head of Men's Design
  • Influences the holistic execution of the White Label offering across all categoires through cross-functional peers to drive cohesion of the total lifestyle.

Requirements: (skills, qualifications, education, etc)
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, or related field experience, plus 8+ years of wovens design experience
  • Proven experience leading design direction for a full product line, including managing and mentoring designers
  • Creative thinker with a strong, confident point of view and a passion for menswear
  • Must have expert technical knowledge of Wovens product (outerwear, tailoring, bottoms, shirting)
  • Strong understanding of textiles, materials, and trims
  • Experience with White Label or private label design a strong plus - comfortable balancing brand voice with partner and licensee requirements
  • Must be extremely organized, have ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Miro a plus
