Description

Position Summary:

The Deputy Project Manager supports the Project Manager in delivering program workstreams and steps in with full authority when needed. You will help manage schedule, budget, staffing, and risk for the workstream, coordinate Agile teams, and report delivery performance to program leadership and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support and deputize for the Project Manager across assigned workstreams

- Help plan and manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables

- Coordinate multiple Agile teams and support sprint/PI alignment and release planning

- Track and mitigate project risks, issues, and cross-team dependencies

- Produce status reports, metrics, and forecasts, leveraging AI-assisted reporting

- Support onboarding, badging, and resource assignments for workstream staff

- Ensure deliverables meet federal quality, security, and compliance standards

- Support UAT, release readiness, and deliverable acceptance with client counterparts

Requirements

Non-Technical Requirements:

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (3-4 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required.

- Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Must be able to prioritize and self-start.

- Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities shift.

- Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement.

Required Qualifications:

- Active PMP certification

- 5+ years of IT project management experience, including Agile delivery

- Experience supporting or deputizing for a Project Manager

- Strong communication skills with federal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

- PMI-ACP or SAFe certification

- Federal IT modernization or financial-regulatory experience

- Familiarity with AI-assisted PM tooling

Salary Description

$150,000-$170,000 (based on pertinent experience)
