Full Job Description
Deputy Program Manager to support the SSC 89 Space-Based Interceptor (SBI) Program Management Office (PMO). in Huntsville, Alabama.

As a key leader, you will aid in overseeing program scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring the seamless execution of mission-critical objectives. You will coordinate across engineering, contracting, and operational teams to deliver enhanced warfighter capabilities while maintaining compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) policies and advanced digital engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Program Scope & Management
  • Aid in the planning, execution, and monitoring of contract deliverables and efforts to achieve program mission goals.
  • Assist in overseeing budget and financial performance, ensuring cost control, accurate reporting, and compliance with DoD guidelines.
  • Track and measure program performance against established milestones, delivering updates to stakeholders and leadership.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication
  • Drive collaboration across engineering, contracting, logistics, and operational teams to ensure resource alignment.
  • Prepare and present program briefings, reports, and metrics to senior leadership and program sponsors.

Schedule & Resource Coordination
  • Aid in developing and managing program schedules, ensuring efficient deployment of personnel, resources, and materials.
  • Recommend resolution to schedule deviations and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project alignment.

Contracting & Compliance
  • Provide program insights to support contracting activities, working closely with the contract program manager and government leads.
  • Ensure program execution adheres to regulations, policies, and contractual obligations.


Qualifications:

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field such as Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Business Administration.

Experience:
  • 15 years of relevant DoD or industry experience.
  • Proven expertise in program management for complex defense programs, including cost control, schedule tracking, technical oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills for managing program requirements and teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of weapon systems and/or digital environments (M&S, MBSE)


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MA/MS/ME) strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in multi-domain operations, cybersecurity-focused solutions development, and risk management strategies.


Clearance Requirements
  • Active TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
