Job Description:

Deputy Program Manager

Deputy Program Manager supports the Program Manager in overseeing a complex U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Financial Services Program. This role assists with program operations, staffing, subcontractor oversight, financial tracking, schedule management, and customer engagement. The Deputy PM helps ensure the program progresses according to CBP requirements, mission priorities, and acquisition standards, to strengthen program execution and enabling successful delivery.

CBP SAP Program Support
• Assist the Program Manager in overseeing SAP operations and maintenance tasks across CBP mission areas and technical workstreams.
• Coordinate functional, technical, testing, data migration, and deployment activities to maintain alignment with CBP program objectives.
• Track milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies associated with Revenue Modernization system development and rollout.
• Support preparation of CBP-facing status reports, dashboards, risk summaries, and program documentation.

Operational and Financial Oversight
• Support monitoring of program budgets, burn rates, staffing forecasts, and subcontractor cost performance.
• Maintain updated program documentation, including schedules, staffing logs, resource plans, and CBP-required artifacts.
• Assist in identifying, documenting, and escalating operational or financial risks.

Team and Staffing Coordination
• Coordinate candidate interviews, onboarding, and alignment of roles to CBP SAP program requirements.
• Support regular coordination with team members, ensuring clarity of tasks, resolution of blockers, and consistent communication.
• Assist in monitoring team performance and escalating issues when appropriate.

Subcontractor Coordination
• Support subcontractor oversight by coordinating deliverables, validating labor inputs, and monitoring performance across SAP functional and technical teams.
• Maintain routine communication with subcontractor leads to ensure timely reporting and integration with CBP program workflows.

CBP Customer Support
• Assist with CBP stakeholder communications, including preparing meeting materials, updates, and deliverable submissions.
• Participate in CBP meetings, reviews, and documentation requests in conjunction with the Program Manager.
• Maintain compliance with CBP standards, acquisition policies, and security requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your management expertise, communication skills, and detail-oriented mindset to GDIT. The Deputy Program Manager must have:

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years supporting project or program management in a federal contracting environment
• Experience supporting SAP/ERP programs (modernization, integration, implementation, or sustainment)
• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced CBP mission environments with multiple stakeholders
• DHS suitability or ability to obtain Background Investigation
• US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications
• PMP or similar certification
• Experience supporting CBP or DHS components or other complex Federal programs
• Experience coordinating subcontractor teams in multi-vendor programs
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience preparing customer-facing briefs
• Local to the Washington DC or Indianapolis Area

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
