Deputy Director - Securities & Retail Franchising

Starting Salary Range: $131,331 - $150,000

The Virginia State Corporation Commission's (SCC) Securities and Retail Franchising Division (SRF) seeks a talented leader and advisor to serve as Deputy Director. Subject to Division Director oversight, the candidate selected for this position will provide strategic direction and manage senior staff; provide leadership, training, and staff development; and provide advanced technical guidance to the managers of the SRF examination and registration sections. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: reviewing and analyzing laws and rules; directing and conducting special studies and analysis; meeting with staff on more complex issues; reviewing reports; and making recommendations; participating in meetings and working groups of the North American Securities Administrators Association; presenting information concerning existing or proposed legislation to legislators and other interested parties; and communicating both directly and through prepared communications with regulated entities, legislators, and consumers. Public presentations and some travel are required. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (some in-office and telework days each week).
