JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE JOB

The Deployment Systems Technician is responsible for preparing, configuring, testing, and maintaining deployment environments to ensure successful end-to-end system functionality. This role supports hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure components required for operational deployments, demonstrations, and sustainment activities. The technician works cross-functionally with engineering, TechOps, and logistics teams to ensure systems are fully operational, secure, and properly configured before shipment or mission use.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Configure and bring servers online to support deployment environments.
  • Perform full end-to-end (E2E) system checkout for deployments, including complete systems and individual components.
  • Conduct system administrator-level updates, including BIOS configuration changes (e.g., enabling/disabling Wi-Fi).
  • Test infrastructure components such as power and fiber connectivity to ensure deployment readiness.
  • Perform server check-in, reimaging, configuration, and validation.
  • Manage software upgrades and downgrades on servers as required for deployments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of hands-on IT experience, relevant internships, or completion of an IT-related technical program/certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, IT Fundamentals).
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware components (e.g., CPUs, RAM, storage, motherboards) and operating systems (e.g., Windows, basic command-line navigation).
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet cables, basic connectivity troubleshooting).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and processes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (e.g., server equipment) as needed for installation and configuration.
  • Ability to carry 50 pounds for short periods of time
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Exposure to or experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., command line interface, basic administration).
  • Familiarity with server hardware, rack-and-stack procedures, and various cabling types.
  • Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Experience with inventory management or ticketing systems.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, CCNA entry-level).


US Salary Range

$98,000-$130,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
