Michael Baker International is seeking a Department Manager - Bridge to lead and grow our Ohio bridge practice. This role combines technical leadership, client development, and team management, with a focus on delivering impactful bridge and transportation projects for ODOT and local agencies across the state.
What You'll Do: - Lead and grow a team delivering bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, and load rating projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ODOT, counties, municipalities, and key transportation clients.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- Drive business development efforts, lead strategic pursuits, and help win major bridge and transportation projects.
- Mentor staff, support career development, and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Represent Michael Baker within Ohio's transportation industry and professional organizations.
What You Need to Succeed: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of bridge engineering experience.
- Experience working with ODOT and Ohio public-sector clients.
- PE license in Ohio (or ability to obtain).
- Proven leadership, project delivery, and business development experience.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Established Ohio transportation industry relationships.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Alternative delivery (Design-Build) experience.
- Active involvement in professional organizations.
- Track record of winning pursuits and growing client accounts.
Compensation: The approximate compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $195,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
