The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking a Dentist to join an established team of Dentists and Dental Assistants who provide care to individuals that often have had limited access to dental services.
You'll spend your time helping to relieve pain, restore confidence, improve health, and make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
What You'll Do The DOCR Dentist provides comprehensive general dental services to adults and youth in custody across DOCR facilities. This role includes diagnosing and treating oral health conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, and promoting preventive care while following clinic security protocols and documentation standards.
Dentists work in secure clinical settings with trained security staff supporting all patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive dental care, including exams, restorative treatment, extractions, dentures, and preventive services for adults and youth in custody.
- Diagnose oral health conditions, develop treatment plans, and improve patient outcomes through high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team while helping shape and strengthen the DOCR dental program.
- Mentor and support dental assistants while maintaining professional, clinical, and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications - Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current license to practice dentistry in North Dakota, or the ability to obtain licensure prior to employment.
- Current DEA registration.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.
