Responsibilities

  • Assist in the training of new/existing dental staff

Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate general Dentist to join our team. As a general dentist, you will be responsible for providing quality dental care to our patients. In this role, you will diagnose and treat a range of dental conditions and perform routine dental procedures. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to patient care and be able to work well in a team environment.

Expected Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities-
  • Provides comprehensive dental examination, diagnoses, and treatment planning for all patients within the normal Standards of Care for the profession of Dentistry with an emphasis on patient education and prevention.
  • Provides comprehensive dental treatment such as restorative dentistry, endodontic therapy, space maintenance, fixed and removable prosthetics, and oral surgery.
  • Participates in the multi-disciplinary evaluations by providing dental assessments of foster children in the pediatric clinic.
  • Performs oral examinations at all ages from 1 year old physical appointments in Pediatrics and upward.
  • Complies with OSHA infection control procedures and follows CDC guidelines.
  • Consults with other health professionals (dentists, specialists, physicians, and pharmacists) and makes appropriate referrals when necessary
  • Assists in the training of dental students and new/existing dental staff
  • Maintains records relating to all professional services rendered
  • Prepares and attends to all reports, claims, and correspondence necessary or appropriate for referral or as requested by other health care providers
  • Creates and role-models a respectful, courteous and professional work environment, addressing conflict and disagreement in a positive and respectful manner.


Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience
  • D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from an accredited dental school
  • 1 year of clinical experience post-residency preferred

Minimum Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Current dental license (in the State of CT highly preferred)
  • Controlled Substance license
  • DEA Certificate

Minimum Skills and Abilities
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems with working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
