About the RoleBedi Dental Group is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated
Dental Hygienist to join our established practice
. Our ideal candidates accept a high level of responsibility and working with Dentists to create treatment plans so they can more efficiently care for patients, with duties such as cleaning teeth, taking X-rays, examining oral health, applying preventative agents and maintaining patient records. We welcome Hygienists who are excellent communicators, organized and can build strong relationships with both patients and co-workers. Key Responsibilities- Responsible for providing hygiene treatment to patients.
- Review daily schedule with the patient care coordinator for hygiene patients.
- Review patient health and dental history forms and update as necessary.
- Perform scaling. Root planning and selective polishing for patients as appropriate.
- Polish restorations.
- Take radiographs of patients as prescribed by dentist.
- Gather and review patient charts for the day.
- Maintain a supply inventory for hygiene treatments.
- Maintain treatment room to ensure cleanliness and sterilization per OSHA regulations.
- Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluorides and sealants.
- Accurately and appropriately record provided treatments.
- Teach proper oral hygiene techniques to patients.
- Counsel patients on oral health and nutrition.
Qualifications- State licensure to practice Dental Hygiene, and meet all applicable state requirements.
- Must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Experience with Dental Assistance specific to Periodontics.
- Experience providing prophylaxis and taking X-rays.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists and coworkers.
- Strong computer skills (List of specific dental software(s) previously worked with).
- Open Dental knowledge is a plus!
- Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff.
