Work location: Ottawa, ON-onsite 3 days per week currently - 55 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa ON

CGI is seeking a Director Consulting Expert - Defence to support and expand our defence consulting and IT services business in Canada. This role combines senior client engagement, strategic business development, and delivery leadership, with a strong focus on the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to defence clients and will play a key role in identifying, shaping, and winning new business opportunities, while also contributing to the successful delivery of complex defence-related programs and transformation initiatives.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

.Lead and maintain senior-level client relationships within DND and CAF, with a strong emphasis on client relationship management and long-term account growth.
.Drive business development activities, including opportunity identification, capture strategy, proposal development, and executive-level client engagements for defence initiatives.
.Contribute to the growth of CGI's defence portfolio by expanding existing accounts and developing new business in the Canadian defence IT market.
.Provide project and/or program management leadership on defence-related initiatives, ensuring delivery excellence, governance compliance, and alignment with client objectives.
.Provide regular status updates and briefings to program leadership, sub-program leads, and PMO teams, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
.Foster strong stakeholder relationships across client and internal teams, ensuring alignment with program goals and outcomes.
.Support internal teams by providing defence domain expertise, strategic guidance, and insight into client priorities, governance, and procurement processes.
.Collaborate with CGI leadership to shape defence market strategy, service offerings, and long-term growth plans.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

.Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
.10+ years of experience in IT project, program, or delivery management, preferably within large-scale or complex environments.
.Former Canadian Armed Forces member strongly preferred.
.Established network and strong relationships within DND and CAF.
.Demonstrated experience pursuing, negotiating and managing large transformation programs, including initiatives impacting finance and accounting functions.
.Strong background in consulting, with excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
.Excellent client relationship management skills and demonstrated business acumen.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115000-$165,000. This role is an existing vacancy
