Summary

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Debt Policy and Collections Support Division. As a Debt Collection Strategy and Performance Lead, you will serve as a senior team member in the development and implementation of government-wide debt collection programs, policies, and operations to increase the revenues of the federal government and reduce the amount of delinquent debt owed to the federal government.

As a Debt Collection Strategy and Performance Lead, you will:

  • Provide daily debt collection program expertise to other BFS employees, creditor agency contacts, and private collection agency contractors.
  • Facilitate the exchange of information through correspondence, presentations, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including responding to Congressional inquiries.
  • Analyze financial information from various sources to make business decisions and recommendations to update practices and procedures.
  • Represent the branch on teams to complete special projects or on workgroups, and serve as a liaison between the team, branch, and other bureau staff.

The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13 you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

-Experience utilizing analytical techniques to determine the effectiveness of programs and recommending improvements to an organization or program; AND

-Experience assessing the quality of programs and the level of progress in achieving specific objectives, and communicating findings to stakeholders; AND

-Experience developing techniques for monitoring the validity, accuracy, and reliability of performance data related to debt management programs.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
