Job Description:

Dean of Students

Frostburg State University (FSU) seeks applications for a full-time, exempt level Dean of Students. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package, which is comprised of annual, personal, and sick leave, holidays, tuition remission, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement plans.

Responsibilities: The Dean of Students is responsible for promoting the safety and wellbeing of FSU students through the administration of the university's community standards and Code of Student Conduct under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. This role oversees the investigation and adjudication of on and off campus policy violations, provides training to Residence Life staff and university personnel related to judicial proceedings, collaborates with law enforcement partners, and manages the Students of Concern committee. The Dean of Students serves in a variety of capacities related to student safety, crisis management, and dispute resolution, while maintaining compliance with Title IX policies. The Dean coordinates program compliance, assessment, and evaluation for all matters pertaining to student conduct. The position also leads university initiatives related to student orientation and completes other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's or Professional degree and 5 years of Student Affairs experience related to student conduct.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree and evidence of training certifications related to Title IX decision-making.
