Full Job Description
Faulkner University is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Dean for the College of Biblical Studies. The individual selected must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered liberal arts education, Christian service, and the mission of Faulkner University. The successful candidate will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer for the college while advancing the mission of the university by fostering academic excellence, spiritual formation, and institutional growth. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a full-time (40+ hours per week) position. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, administrative and teaching experience, and ministry leadership.

Summary of Duties include:
  • Oversee all academic, administrative and budgetary operations for the college
  • Lead planning initiatives related to campus spiritual formation, college enrollment growth, and ministry impact
  • Serve as chief ambassador of the college to churches, alumni, and external stakeholders
  • Actively assist university leadership in pursuing fundraising initiatives
  • Cultivate community partnerships that support ministry opportunities for our students
  • Collaborate with university entities to assist with and achieve student recruitment initiatives
  • Provide overall leadership for faculty recruitment, retention, evaluation, and professional development
  • Provide leadership for the college to ensure the quality, integrity, and effectiveness of academic programs
  • Partner with university officials to achieve compliance for all accreditation standards
  • Effectively work with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop, implement, and achieve university strategic plans
  • Further develop the Jack Zorn Free Tuition Scholarship for Bible majors from churches of Christ who desire to be ministers
  • Teach one course each fall and spring semesters to support the academic programs of the institution


Qualifications:
  • Earned a doctorate in a field related to biblical studies, required
  • Academic leadership experience at a baccalaureate or higher degree granting institution, preferred
  • Demonstrated record of teaching, scholarly achievement, and ministry leadership
  • Active member of the church of Christ
