Department: AcademicCampus: Barrie CampusSalary Range: $150,794 -$201,056Classification: Administrative (Payband 15)Reporting to the Vice President, Academic, the Dean, Centre for Academic Quality, Excellence and Innovation provide integrated leadership and strategic planning across three distinct, yet interconnected areas, academic quality assurance, teaching and learning innovation, and academic pathways and partnerships. The Dean is accountable for ensuring academic excellence, program quality, and continuous improvement across the College by leading institutional quality assurance processes, advancing innovative teaching and learning practices (including digital transformation), and stewarding strategic partnerships and pathways that enhance student access and success. As a member of the Academic Leadership Team, the Dean contributes to the institutional academic strategy and ensures alignment and advancement of academic quality, innovation, and partnership initiatives with college priorities, regulatory requirements, and labour market needs. The incumbent fosters a culture of innovation, quality assurance through continuous improvement, scholarship, evidence-informed decision-making, and collegiality and collaboration internally and externally.
We collaborate with industry and community partners to deliver relevant, future-focused programs, meaningful work-integrated learning opportunities, and co-op experiences with leading employers. The Dean plays a key role in fostering and strengthening relationships with industry and sector partners, serving as an ambassador for the College and advancing strategic external partnerships. Georgian's commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDI&B) is embedded throughout the College's academic and operational planning. Candidates for this role will possess excellent strategic, leadership, management, interpersonal, communication, change management, engagement, diversity and decision-making skills. The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, complex, unionized institution in order to support the achievement of the college's strategic plan objectives is critical. Relevant academic and professional qualifications will be considered. A Master's degree is required.
