Overview

Who we're looking for

Toyota's TMCC Dealer Products Accounting team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Accounting Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial results in conformity with US GAAP and IFRS.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager of Dealer Products, the person in this role will support the objective of delivering financial results while supporting the department and company-wide initiatives to develop our business and grow internal capabilities.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensuring all monthly and quarterly accounting activities are completed, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintaining and operating effective internal controls as well as thorough procedural documentation
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests
  • Understand and apply US GAAP and implement new accounting guidance when necessary
  • Participate in financial reporting process for preparing quarterly and annual financial statements as well as the quarterly submissions to Japan
  • Support key projects including department-wide and company-wide initiatives
  • Embody the "Kaizen" mindset (Japanese for "continuous improvement") by initiating and supporting process improvement projects within the Dealer Products Accounting team to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborating with a team of five to share knowledge and responsibilities across the various loan products TMCC offers to its dealer network


What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in accounting, financial reporting, or other relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills in closing process gaps and resolving issues.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and advanced functionality including, but not limited to, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and the ability to manage and analyze large data sets
  • Demonstrated aptitude with a desire to learn and apply emerging technologies.


Added bonus if you have

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Mix of public and private accounting experience in a corporate environment; BIG 4 accounting firm experience a plus
  • Financial Services, Banking, or Treasury skills/industry experience a plus
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (ERP), Oracle Hyperion (Financial Reporting), or loan servicing systems such as Wholesale Intelligence (Datascan) or HOST mainframe systems
