Job SummaryWe are seeking a DBA Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server to support mission-critical applications by managing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise database environments. This role focuses on performance tuning, proactive monitoring, and ensuring reliable and high-performing data services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large-scale database systems and collaborating with development teams to resolve performance challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Monitor database performance and analyze slow queries to implement tuning strategies
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access patterns in collaboration with application teams
- Perform routine database maintenance including backups, restores, integrity checks, and patching
- Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, clustering, and replication
- Automate database maintenance and operational tasks where applicable
- Diagnose and resolve database-related performance issues impacting applications
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production releases and critical incidents
Required Qualifications- 8+ years of experience in professional services or related roles
- 5+ years of experience working with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
- 5+ years of experience with SQL and data modeling tools
- 5+ years of experience in stored procedures, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery technologies such as SQL Server AlwaysOn or clustering
- Knowledge of cloud-based or containerized database environments (e.g., Azure SQL, SQL Server in containers)
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes for database deployments
- Understanding of ETL processes and tools such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory
- Relevant certifications such as SQL Server or Azure database certifications
