Dayside Executive Producer to lead our newsroom's editorial direction during the early evening hours for our #1 newscasts. This leader will serve as the editorial and strategic content driver for dayside coverage - responsible for delivering impactful journalism across
broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.
We're seeking someone who thrives in breaking news, inspires innovation, embraces accountability journalism, and motivates a team to deliver content that is urgent, relevant, and connects with audiences in meaningful ways.
Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the dayside editorial team.
- Own the editorial vision and execution of content across all platforms during the dayside shift.
- Drive strong, urgent, and enterprising coverage for late newscasts and digital platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, accuracy, and storytelling.
- Guide and support the team in breaking news situations with smart, real-time decisions that maximize audience reach and impact.
- Collaborate closely with story desk editors to ensure content is optimized for web, app, social, and OTT audiences.
- Foster a culture of innovation and inclusiveness, encouraging creativity, audience-first thinking, and ethical journalism.
- Participate in daily editorial meetings and coordinate with dayside leaders for effective story handoffs and planning.
- Coach team members in developing engaging content, creative writing, and best practices for storytelling across formats.
Job Requirements:What You Bring:- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a professional newsroom, with demonstrated success in both producing and digital content strategy.
- 2+ years in a newsroom leadership role strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage and coach a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- A deep understanding of the content needs of diverse audiences on multiple platforms - including linear, digital, and social.
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to lead during major news events.
- Passion for innovation, storytelling, and community-centered journalism.
- Availability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Pay Range $80,000-$95,000 USD
