VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across a portfolio of five hotels, ensuring alignment with the company's vision, values, and business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor General Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring consistent delivery of brand standards, guest satisfaction, service quality, and property presentation across all hotels.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve profitability, market share, RevPAR, EBITDA, guest experience, and overall operational performance.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, labour management, cost controls, and capital planning to maximize portfolio performance.
  • Partner with Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Finance teams to identify growth opportunities and enhance commercial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, company policies, health and safety legislation, employment legislation, and operational controls across all properties.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, analyse operational trends, and implement initiatives that improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Support hotel development, acquisitions, renovations, transitions, and major capital projects as required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ownership groups, brand representatives, tourism partners, industry associations, and community stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize best practices, improve systems and processes, and enhance both the guest and employee experience throughout the portfolio.
  • Travel regularly between properties to provide leadership, operational support, and coaching to hotel leadership teams.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience within the hospitality industry, including multi-property leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading full-service hotels with responsibility for operational, financial, and commercial performance.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Sales, Revenue Management, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, and Property Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing leadership teams and create a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience managing budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, labour costs, capital planning, and operational performance metrics.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with branded hotel systems and franchise standards is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between properties across multiple provinces.
  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
