Job Summary
Responsible for managing all aspects of PJM physical and financial positions for the cash month including DA and RT energy and ancillary service bidding for all PJM generation assets and wholesale and retail load
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
• Development of all Day Ahead and Real Time submissions for PJM assets, submittal of Retail DA bids in compliance with all FERC, PJM and internal policies and procedures
• Schedule all physical power trades
• Coordinate gas purchases with fuels team and assist in managing imbalance
• Coordinate coal inventory with Sold Fuel team
• Coordinate with Operations to develop and optimize outage and testing schedules for the PJM fleet
• Provide thought leadership on operational and financial improvements within Asset Management
• SME on all PJM market rules
• Follow and provide SME input to Regulatory on changes to PJM Market Rules
• Serves as a resource for Adapt2 market submissions systems including development and maintenance
• Direct other analytical projects and studies as necessary to maximize the value of the PJM assets.
• Responsible for scheduling all physical power trades and other associated tasks.
• Assist in directing RT dispatch team on real time optimization of assets.
• Provide input to cash month P&L and analyze for adjustments to strategy
• Provide input into DSO modeling for assets
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
• 2-5 years' experience in Commercial Asset Management, Trading, or Market Analytics.
• Highly proficient in full complement of Microsoft Office products like Word and PowerPoint, and most importantly Excel (experienced in the creation and use of complex Excel-based models).
• Must be able to work in an active, fast-paced, and open environment that is frequently noisy.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Knowledgeable of power and fuel markets
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to guide and influence diverse project teams.
• Strong self-starter and taker of initiative with a demonstrable history of focused/timely successful completion/execution of key deliverables
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.
• Ability to work productively and constructively in a collaborative team environment.
• General understanding of power plant operations, both coal and gas-fired plants.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
