Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Developer with specialized expertise in Databricks Apps development to join our data engineering and analytics team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data applications using the Databricks platform, with a focus on building custom applications and solutions that drive business intelligence and operational excellence across the organization.
This role has a preferred location of Houston, TX but can be remote for the ideal candidate.
Key Responsibilities
. Develop Databricks Apps: Design and build custom web based applications using Databricks Apps framework, enabling business stakeholders to interact with data and analytics dashboards in real time.
. Data Engineering: Build and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark, Databricks SQL, and Delta Lake to process, transform, and manage large scale datasets.
. Architecture & Design: Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to design robust, scalable solutions that meet performance and reliability requirements.
. Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, well documented code; implement unit and integration tests; maintain code repositories using Git best practices.
. Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data workflows and applications; optimize queries and cluster configurations.
. Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams including data scientists, analytics engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge base; mentor junior developers and share best practices.
. Deployment & Maintenance: Manage deployment pipelines, monitor application health, and troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications
. 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or software development with Databricks platform.
. Demonstrated experience developing and deploying Databricks Apps (or similar custom applications on Databricks).
. Strong proficiency in Python for Databricks development.
. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) in a data engineering context.
. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
. Knowledge of machine learning workflows and MLflow integration.
. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Databricks SQL dashboards).
. Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
. Databricks certification or completion of advanced Databricks training.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 $173,500.00.
