We are hiring Database Management Specialist- Senior to support an enterprise-level program within a federal environment.

Job Description and Responsibilities

provides technical expertise in Oracle database design, administration, optimization, security, and maintenance. The role supports mission-critical applications through database analysis, solution development, performance improvement, data integrity management, and collaboration with project teams on database architecture, integration, and operational support.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database administration across physical and cloud environments, including implementations, upgrades, and application support.
  • Skill in database development and administration, including schema/data loading, SQL scripting, and creation and modification of tables, views, indexes, and other database objects.
  • Ability to manage database user access, security controls, and account administration while maintaining compliance with organizational security requirements.
  • Skill in database performance monitoring, analysis, and optimization, including use of Oracle AWR reports to identify performance issues and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related application issues, errors, and performance problems while coordinating effectively with application and DBA infrastructure teams.
  • Knowledge of database security and compliance practices, including researching, documenting, and remediating STIG findings and supporting approved Oracle database upgrades.

Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Ability to run Automated Workload Repository (AWR) reports
  • IAT-II requires one of the following current certifications: CND, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security + CE, or SSCP
  • Azure Database Administrator

Minimum Clearance
  • Secret

  • Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking (including stairs) throughout offices and between buildings. May require use of public transportation, personal or Government vehicle to drive to local and/or remote office locations.
