About this opportunity:

ELITS is looking for a Database Developer to join a customer-focused delivery team in a remote position based in Canada.

In this role, you will support the design, development, integration, and operation of modern data platform solutions. You will work with customer stakeholders and technical teams to build reliable, scalable database and cloud integrations that enable effective data processing, reporting, and analytics.

What you will do:
• Develop, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including database design, performance tuning, and ongoing operational support.
• Build and maintain PostgreSQL stored procedures, functions, and Structured Query Language (SQL) queries.
• Work with PostgreSQL and pg_lake to support scalable data storage and analytical workloads.
• Configure and support integrations between PostgreSQL environments and Databricks.
• Collaborate with cloud, data, and application teams to deliver secure and reliable data solutions.
• Support deployments and operational activities within Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Work with Kubernetes or a Kubernetes distribution to support the deployment, configuration, and operation of database-related services.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for database configurations, integrations, processes, and delivered solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, performance, reliability, and standardization across the data platform.

The skills you bring:
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or equivalent applicable experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Server administration, development, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), including writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience developing and maintaining PostgreSQL stored procedures and functions.
• Experience with pg_lake or similar PostgreSQL-based analytical data capabilities.
• Experience configuring or supporting integrations between PostgreSQL and Databricks.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience working with Kubernetes or a Kubernetes distribution in a production or enterprise environment.
• Understanding of database security, access management, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote, customer-facing environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
