About the Role:
Join the Information Technology Directorate as a Database Architect! In this role, you will design, implement, and administer the scientific databases and financial applications that support Fermilab’s research and business operations, including the Oracle E-Business Suite and related enterprise systems.
What your day-to-day as a Database Architect at Fermilab will look like:
• Design, install, create, develop, modify, implement and administer scientific databases and financial applications.
• Develop and review the change specifications for several large, inter-related projects and implement them and provide oversight of their implementation.
• Support and administer the Oracle E-Business Suite application and database instances, Oracle OBIEE or Analytic server application and database instances, and Oracle IDCS/ICS products.
• Support and administer the DosiServ application and database instances.
• Support and administer the custom-built Oracle APEX based application and database.
• Develop and manage UNIX/Linux shell scripts and programs.
• Continuously learn and become effective with new technologies and applications.
• Master and utilize troubleshooting techniques to solve problems quickly.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Database Engineering, or a related field, or a foreign equivalent, and 5 years (60 months) of progressive relevant experience in database administration, including at least 1 (one) year of experience in: (1) database administration, including installation, backup configuration, and upgrades; (2) Oracle E-Business Suite administration, Oracle E-biz cloning, patching and application upgrades; and (3) upgrading databases, RAC instances and E-Business Suite environment, and support of RAC and ASM databases.
In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Database Engineering, or a related field, or a foreign equivalent, and 8 years (96 months) of progressive relevant experience in database administration, including at least 3 (three) years of experience in: (1) database administration, including installation, backup configuration, and upgrades; (2) Oracle E-Business Suite administration, Oracle E-biz cloning, patching and application upgrades; and (3) upgrading databases, RAC instances and E-Business Suite environment, and support of RAC and ASM databases.
Work Arrangement:
