Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

The Database Administrator II (SQL DBA) will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our databases. This role involves managing databases and mentoring of junior team members.

Day in the Life:

  • ​Will work on the installation, configuration, and upgrading of databases.

  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and recovery operations.

  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.

  • Work with senior administrators to fine-tune database parameters and queries.

  • Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to databases in a timely manner.

  • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Assist in setting up user accounts, roles, and permissions.

  • Perform regular database backups and ensure that backup and recovery procedures are in place and effective.

  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.

  • Create and update operational manuals and troubleshooting guides.

  • Provide technical support for database-related issues.

  • Work with development and application teams to resolve database issues and improve system performance.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and weekend support.

  • Work closely with other IT staff, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of database systems.

  • Stay current with new database technologies and best practices.

  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

  • Relevant SQL DBA certifications are a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience as an MS SQL Database Administrator

  • Competent with SQL coding and troubleshooting

  • Experience with on-prem and Azure SQL

Pay Equity

$75,800.00 - $96,700.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
