Job Title: Database Administrator 3

Location(s): Austin, TX
(Remote)

Position Summary:
A public-sector client is seeking a Senior Operational Oracle DBA to support critical enterprise database environments. The role focuses on Oracle database administration, infrastructure management, database upgrades, high availability, security compliance, performance optimization, and support for ERP implementations and upgrades. The DBA will lead Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai upgrade initiatives while maintaining highly available and secure database environments supporting ETL and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and execute Oracle database upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai.
  • Administer and maintain Oracle database environments and supporting infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM, and Clusterware.
  • Manage high-availability solutions including Oracle GoldenGate and Active Data Guard.
  • Perform database performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Monitor database health, storage utilization, and system performance.
  • Implement database security controls and ensure compliance with security vulnerability requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Linux shell scripting and SQL.
  • Execute backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Support ETL environments and concurrent ERP implementation and upgrade projects.
  • Perform logical and physical data modeling activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
  • 8+ years managing Oracle 19c or newer database infrastructure.
  • 8+ years of Oracle Grid Infrastructure experience including:
    • ASM (Automatic Storage Management)
    • Oracle Clusterware
  • 8+ years of high-availability experience including:
    • Oracle GoldenGate
    • Oracle Active Data Guard
  • 8+ years of advanced Linux and SQL scripting experience.
  • Strong experience with database upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
  • Experience with performance tuning and database optimization.
  • Knowledge of database security, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery strategies.
  • Ability to independently manage complex database environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years supporting Federal, State, or Local Government organizations.
  • 2+ years working with hosting vendors or managed infrastructure providers.
  • 2+ years supporting Oracle PeopleSoft environments.
