Work Location: Remote, US
Pay Range: Up to $115K/Yr Base + Annual Bonus

We are seeking a technically focused Data Steward (Custodian) responsible for managing technical metadata, lineage analysis, data traceability, and data remediation activities across enterprise data platforms. This role acts as the bridge between Data Governance and Engineering teams, ensuring technical data assets are accurately documented, connected, and maintained.

The ideal candidate will possess strong database and data analysis skills, along with hands-on experience supporting data governance initiatives within Property & Casualty Insurance.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Document and maintain technical metadata across enterprise data assets.
  • Perform end-to-end lineage analysis and lineage stitching across source-to-target systems.
  • Analyze data quality and operational data issues.
  • Support data remediation efforts in collaboration with engineering and business teams.
  • Validate data movement and transformations across systems.
  • Assist with metadata onboarding and governance initiatives.
  • Support root cause analysis for data incidents and quality issues.
  • Work with Data Engineers to improve traceability and data transparency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and lineage artifacts.
  • Support audit, compliance, and risk management requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Engineering, or Data Analysis.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Technical Metadata Documentation
    • Data Lineage Analysis
    • Lineage Stitching
    • Data Issue Analysis & Remediation
  • Strong SQL and database expertise.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms and data warehouses.
  • Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Collibra and data cataloging tools.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance programs.
