Full Job Description
Leidos is seeking a candidate skilled in data visualization and basic analysis to assist the team with accurate analysis and presentation of learning related data.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Data Scientist will be provided the data related technologies and services that training providers rely on to engage with the workforce, deliver training, and make business decisions. The focus is on advancing learning goals related to a range of learning formats by facilitating data collection, analysis, visualization, and interpretation. We are seeking a candidate skilled in data visualization and basic analysis to assist the team with accurate analysis and presentation of learning related data in order to fulfill stakeholder's needs and facilitate data driven decisions.

The Data Scientist (DS) shall utilize SQL Developer and Python programing languages to extract and transform talent data including the implementation of business rules for how the data needs to be prepared for analytics. They shall use advanced analytics (e.g., AI/ML) in order to respond to complex talent questions, especially as they relate to language and learning. The Data Scientist shall utilize data visualization tools and dashboards to appropriately convey data and respond to leadership requests. The DS shall develop user-friendly, easy to understand reports (e.g., graphs, charts, briefing slides) for clients to meet business needs. The DS shall create, enhance, and maintain data visualizations using Tableau and other tools. (This includes dashboards.) The DS shall assist in the collection of data from a variety of sources and understand the relationship between data sets.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide accurate analyses and results.
  • Evaluate the use of AI models (e.g., Large Language Models), propose improvements, and identify new models for use in responding to learning and language needs.
  • Consult with clients to clarify the question they are trying to answer and their analytic needs.
  • Review data, analytics, and reports for accuracy and integrity.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a TS/SCI with Poly to be considered.
  • Must have a Bachelor's and a minimum of 12 years relatable experience OR a Masters and at least 10 years of relatable experience.
  • Experience using Python and SQL Developer programming language to extract, transform, format, and load data from a variety of sources/systems.
  • Experience working with data pipelines.
  • Experience identifying and obtaining datasets needed to respond to requests.
  • Experience performing advance analytics (e.g., Artificial Intelligence)
  • Experience visualizing data and creating dashboards using Tableau and Tableau Prep.
  • Experience developing user-friendly, easy to understand reports and dashboards.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to work with data and PowerPoint to create briefing decks.
  • Experience communicating (written/oral) with clients and team members.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cloud and data lake environment.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, identifying, and implementing AI models.
  • Demonstrated experience performing basic consulting with clients in order to clarify the needs of the clients.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's data systems as they relate to language, learning, and/or human resources (HR).
  • Demonstrated experience working with a learning management system.
  • Demonstrated experience using JIRA.


Certification Requirements:
  • AWS AI L100 Certification
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist

Pay Range:
Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
