Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STEM Positions, Cyber Security & Related Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position:

Serves as the ILSC's Data Scientist under the general administrative direction of the Deputy Director, Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), and is responsible to develop, direct, and control the program and operations of the ILSC Data & Analytics Center (DAC)

  • Maintains insight into the organization's mission and the associated data, sources ofrecord, and data owners
  • Develop long-range strategic plan to meet current requirements and achieve required data and analytics maturity levels
  • Serves as leader or member of conferences and planning and policy making committees which have DA-wide significance and impact
  • Develops training, marketing, and other tools as a means of increasing knowledge of data management and data analysis within the organizational community
  • Analyzes a variety of data sources to provide data-driven insights to the organizations to streamline processes

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or field directly related to the position; OR
  • Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.


This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-04 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS-14 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS-14 grade Step 10 in the broadband. This position is covered by control points to account for variances in position responsibilities within the broadband. The Control Point for this position NH-04 DATA SCIENTIST is $143,913 to $187,093 including locality at the rate of 33.94%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position.
