Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for modeling complex healthcare inquiries, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, data-mining and visualization techniques. Integrate and analyze large, varied datasets and communicate results of large scale analytics.

What You Will Do:
  • Support decision making by collaboratively building, maintaining, and improving multiple analytic systems. Design experiments, test hypotheses, and build analytical models to explore, explain, and predict health-related outcomes. Model and frame healthcare scenarios that are meaningful and impact strategic direction throughout the health care business.
  • Work closely with clients, data stewards, project managers, and Information Systems teams to turn health care data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound organizational decisions. Collaborate with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information. Educate the organization from technical and business perspectives on advanced analytic approaches. Help the organization understand the principles and the computational analysis behind processes to ensure organizational support. Work with data stewards to ensure compliance with existing governance, regulatory, architecture and security policies.
  • Apply statistical (descriptive, analytical, inferential) analysis and data mining techniques to generate real-world evidence and prediction systems for stand-alone projects or to be assimilated into production systems. Provide evidence that is congruent and reliable. Work iteratively to validate findings using experimental design, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analyses. Conduct data analyses that range from simple descriptive statistics to highly complex algorithms.
  • Develop innovative and effective approaches to solve analytics problems. Communicate results and methodologies with transparency. Identify, generate, and apply the appropriate algorithm to discover patterns. Come up with solutions to broadly defined business needs by leveraging pattern detection over complex datasets.
  • Present findings to the business leaders through presentations, dashboards, or other analytical output. Provide method validation with assumptions, strengths, and limitations in a way that can be easily understood by stakeholders. Recommend ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms that lead to more efficient processes.


To Qualify For This Position, You Will Need:

Required Education:
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Health Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Informatics, or related field.


Required Work Experience:
  • Three years of relevant quantitative and qualitative analytics experience, PhD training will be counted as three years of experience


Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency using SQL to query large, complex datasets.
  • Strong programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques including statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, predictive analytics, and multivariate testing.
  • Ability to innovate and collaborate; Team player who is proactive and detail-oriented.


Required Software and Other Tools:
  • Microsoft Office, SQL, Statistical programming tools (such as R, Python, or SAS)


We Prefer That You Have:

Preferred Work Experience
  • Experience with machine learning models, including development and deployment.
  • Experience leveraging large language models (LLMs), ie. AI.
  • Experience with data prep to support data science workflows.
  • Experience working with health care data or OMOP CDM.


Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency using Python.
  • Proficiency using Data Bricks.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.


Work Environment: Typical office environment. Some travel required.
