Job Description

As a Data Scientist on the Business Banking Data & Analytics (D&A) Client Analytics Team, You'll support Business Banking Strategy by delivering data-driven insights that inform strategic decision-making across the business. You will leverage your analytical expertise to support high-visibility projects and contribute to the development of materials for senior leaders (including external investors). If you're a quick learner with a growth mindset that wants to use data science to help shape the strategy for one of the largest businesses at Chase, this could be the role for you.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Banking senior stakeholders to identify key business challenges and opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions to address them.
  • Apply statistical methods and data analysis to solve business problems, under guidance from senior team members.
  • Support all project phases, from requirements gathering and analysis to delivering insights to senior leaders.
  • Navigate large amounts of data from multiple sources, utilizing Python and SQL for data processing and analysis, while ensuring accuracy.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments/SMEs to ensure data quality and methodologies are applicable and accurate.
  • Maintain data integrity and security, complying with all relevant regulations and protocols.
  • Actively participate in learning and development opportunities, staying abreast of current trends and best practices in data science, and applying newfound knowledge to enhance job performance and project outcomes.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Completion of Bachelor's / Graduate degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, etc.) plus 4+ years of experience producing advanced analytics work with an emphasis in optimization.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, along with hands-on experience using statistical software packages and data tools, including Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Demonstrated command of advanced statistical methods and concepts, including predictive modeling, time series forecasting, and text mining.
  • Experience with data mining and visualization, including Tableau.
  • Effective storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into digestible insights for audiences across levels; able to influence stakeholders, articulate value hypotheses, and secure sponsorship.
  • Commitment to iterative development, including a proven ability to engage and update stakeholders bi-weekly (or as needed) to ensure alignment, incorporate feedback, and maintain transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience presenting to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Experience in Financial Services, Consulting, or working with strategy teams is a plus.
