Description

Tharros is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to support a Department of Defense customer in leveraging large-scale data, advanced analytics, and predictive modeling to improve operational performance, cybersecurity, and enterprise decision-making. This role will develop automated predictive analytical models, statistical analysis capabilities, databases, and data science solutions that transform complex data assets into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate brings experience in data science, predictive analytics, statistical modeling, large-scale data processing, and database technologies, with the ability to integrate analytical solutions into complex enterprise IT environments. This individual will identify opportunities to apply automation and data analytics to increase real-time visibility, strengthen cybersecurity and network performance, improve operational efficiency, and reduce technology and workforce costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport and process the anticipated large volumes of data expected with proliferation of data analytics and applications and leverage data science to augment native cybersecurity capabilities
  • Establish automated predictive analytical models to leverage available data assets and statistical analysis tools
  • Integrate data science applications into DON's enterprise IT strategy to support improved network performance and increased security
  • Develop statistical analysis packages, databases, database management systems to support complex data analysis activities
  • Identify opportunities to utilize data analytic solutions and tools to reduce technology and manpower costs. Efforts should increase transparency and real-time access to operational data, and increase customer satisfaction


Requirements

  • Master's degree and 10 years of experience

  • One or more industry certification preferred (e.g., CompTIA Cloud Essentials, MTA, CCSK, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, EMCDSA, CCDH, HCAHD, CISSP, CCP, MCPD, MCSD, MCSE, Private Cloud, or CCAH) 69+
