Responsibilities:- Lead AI/ML Innovation: Architect and develop cutting-edge AI/ML solutions including deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision for defense applications
- Advance Reinforcement Learning Systems: Design and implement explainable, high-performance reinforcement learning (RL) agents, including graph neural network-based approaches for automated planning
- Pioneer Generative AI Solutions: Develop advanced AI patterns including Large Language Model (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to enable natural language control of complex software and simulation interfaces
- Integrate AI/ML with Defense Simulations: Develop and integrate AI/ML applications within DOW Modeling & Simulation environments (e.g., JLVC, JTLS-GO) to enhance realism and analytical capability
- Provide Advanced Data Science Support: Deliver advanced data science and data analytics tools, software, algorithms, and analysis support including application of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and digital engineering to simulation data sets
- Develop AI/ML Frameworks: Lead development and analysis of AI/ML frameworks and models, identification and assessment of data sources, and analysis and monitoring of AI/ML model effectiveness
- Support Multi-Domain Operations: Apply AI/ML technologies to support multi-domain operations effectiveness experimentation, including system performance assessments and technical readiness experimentation for emerging weapons and sensor systems
- Enable Digital Transformation: Provide technical expertise for digital transformation efforts and support enterprise-wide decision analytics capabilities
- Reinforcement Learning: Develop explainable and high-performance RL agents, including graph neural network-based approaches
Qualifications Required:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related technical field, OR 15+ years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- 10+ years of experience leading the application of advanced data science and AI/ML
- Generative AI & NLP: Hands-on experience designing advanced AI patterns, including LLM and RAG systems
- Demonstrated experience developing and integrating AI/ML applications within DOW Modeling & Simulation environments (e.g., JLVC, JTLS-GO)
- Experience with Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) simulation environments and tools such (e.g. JTLS-GO, OneSAF, JSAF, WARSIM, EADSIM, MDASim)
- Proven ability to architect and develop novel solutions in fields such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, and computer vision
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and integrating AI/ML with MBSE frameworks
- Experience with data engineering on simulation data including data cleaning, preparation, management, integration, and feature extraction
- Proficiency in developing full stack data solutions and applying systems engineering principles across the data lifecycle
- Active Secret Clearance
Desired:- Master's degree or Ph.D. is highly valued
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical roadmaps to senior leadership

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$98,500-$206,800
