Application Email: [email protected] Job Summary This role applies AI, NLP, and conversational AI capabilities to modernize data collection across web, mobile, and voice based channels. The ideal candidate has worked on large-scale survey instruments, respondent data pipelines, or statistical agency platforms.
Key Responsibilities - Design and validate statistical models supporting response accuracy across web, mobile, and voice based channels
- Build and tune NLU intent models to extract structured data from open-ended and conversational responses
- Support speech-to-text pipeline accuracy tuning and error analysis for phone based data collection
- Develop confidence-scoring and escalation logic to route complex responses from automated systems to live staff
- Design metadata schemas and automated validation rules feeding CI/CD deployment workflows
- Analyze response and transcript data to identify data quality issues, drop-off points, and usability gaps
- Support functional, performance, and accuracy testing of AI driven data collection components
- Document data models, validation logic, and AI decision workflows to support knowledge transfer and audit readiness
- Collaborate with solutions architects and UX researchers to align data pipeline design with respondent-facing interfaces
Required Qualifications - 2 to 5 years of experience in applied data science, statistical analysis, or NLP/conversational AI development
- Prior experience working on survey instruments or statistical data collection programs
- Experience building or tuning NLU/NLP models for structured data extraction from unstructured or spoken input
- Experience working with speech-to-text pipelines and conversational AI platforms
- Experience supporting federal or regulated data environments with structured deliverables
- Familiarity with data validation, metadata standards, and quality assurance practices
- Experience working with COR and Government stakeholders on structured deliverables
- Must be eligible for a NACI background investigation
Technical Skills and Tools - Programming and Analysis: Python, SQL, R, statistical modeling, pandas/NumPy
- AI and NLP: Amazon Lex, Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI Language, Google Dialogflow, spaCy, or comparable NLU frameworks
- Speech Technologies: Amazon Transcribe, Amazon Polly, Azure Speech Service, Google Speech-to-Text
- Conversational/Contact Center Platforms: Amazon Connect, Twilio Flex, Genesys Cloud
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP
- Data Engineering: ETL pipelines, ELT workflows, data validation frameworks
- Databases: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Recommended Certifications (not mandatory): AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect
