Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Analytics team. This position is located in our New York City office on a hybrid work schedule; three (3) days in office depending on business needs.
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Analytics, this position will design and implement sophisticated measurement methodologies to quantify the impact of our advertising campaigns, and translate insights into clear recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders. Additionally, the Data Scientist will be responsible for building statistical models and using advanced analytics to optimize internal business strategies and forecast trends. They will be instrumental in enhancing decision-making processes across the organization through their ability to package complex insights into a clear and actionable story.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new machine learning and advanced analytics to be deployed across Haymarket to support the growth of the business
- Design and implement measurement studies using exposed vs control methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of pharmaceutical advertising campaigns, validating insights through statistical testing
- Analyze large healthcare, media, and prescription datasets to generate actionable insights for pharmaceutical clients and internal stakeholders
- Translate insights into clear stories tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Build machine learning models to improve audience segmentation, content optimization, email performance
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Development teams to deploy those solutions, creating data visualizations that improve reporting and understanding of the data
- Work with cross functional teams to identify business challenges and get business buy-in on development of scalable analytics solutions for those challenges.
- Serve as an internal team leader for data science, being a technical resource for the larger analytics team
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience
- Past experience designing and building measurement frameworks using test and control methodologies to quantify campaign performance
- Experience querying and uncovering insights from healthcare claims data
- Demonstrated ability in applying data science and clustering techniques to segment audiences and predict user behavior
- Hands-on experience leveraging Python to clean and analyze large datasets, perform statistical analysis, and build predictive models
- Advanced SQL knowledge with ability to write own queries across large, complex datasets with high dimensionality
- Proficiency in using data visualization tools (Looker, PowerBI, etc) to translate data into compelling, narrative-driven dashboards for stakeholders
- Strong reporting and QA skills with attention to detail and accuracy, including the ability to identify anomalies and extreme outliers in large datasets
- Familiarity with web analytics platforms, including Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets capabilities
- Ability to think creatively about solutions to complex, ambiguous, data problems
- BS/MS degree in related field (or equivalent training and experience)

- The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
