What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our AI & Data Defense and Security Segment in support of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs. This role will directly support a multi-disciplinary fusion cell, collaborating with All-Source Analysts, GEOINT and SIGINT Analysts, a Forensic Accountant, and a Cryptocurrency Subject Matter Expert to integrate and analyze diverse data sets. The Data Scientist will be responsible for fusing structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., FinCEN, open-source intelligence, geospatial data platforms such as ArcGIS) and developing automated analytical workflows and models to enhance investigative efficiency and insight generation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting a fusion cell by integrating and analyzing data sets (FinCEN, Open Source, ArcGIS, etc.)
  • Collecting, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing large datasets using tools such as Python, R, and SQL
  • Performing data fusion and entity resolution across disparate systems and datasets
  • Designing and developing data visualization and dashboard solutions (e.g., Power BI) to communicate analytical insights
  • Developing and maintaining data models, algorithms, and automated processes to support investigative and analytical workflows
  • Identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies to support investigative efforts and operational decision-making
  • Ensuring data governance, quality assurance, and validation standards are met
  • Analyzing existing processes and identifying opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members to translate analytical findings into insights
  • Summarizing and presenting results and recommendations through written reports and briefings


What You Will Need:
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • THREE (3) or more years of experience in data science, data analytics, or consulting


What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Five (5) years of experience in data science and data analytics
  • Experience supporting law enforcement, intelligence, or investigative environments
  • Experience working in or supporting a fusion cell or intelligence analysis team
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Experience with geospatial data and tools (e.g., ArcGIS)
  • Familiarity with financial and/or cryptocurrency data analysis
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration tools
  • Experience in process automation, optimization, and operational analytics
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience conducting data validation, data quality assessments, and query optimization
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
