Full Job Description
Data Scientist

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is hiring a Data Scientist for the 2026 cycle. The Data Scientist will work with models and other analytics tools to understand the state of battleground Senate races and support targeting and universe creation for paid media and direct voter contact. They will also provide critical support to the DSCC's early vote reporting and analysis work for key battleground states.

This position reports to the Deputy National Data and Analytics Director.

Responsibilities
  • Use historical and in-cycle data to provide strategic advice to DSCC, Senate campaigns, and coordinated campaigns
  • Work with National Data and Analytics Director to project manage analytics vendors to ensure models and other analytics tools are delivered on time and meet quality standards
  • Manage data support for vendors and staff in utilizing models for targeting mail, digital, and direct voter contact programming
  • Support the DSCC's early vote reporting and analysis work by managing data systems and tools, including:
    • Develop systems to ensure data arriving for reporting is accurate, synthesized, and up to date
    • Create automated analysis tools to support understanding of early vote trends
    • Write actionable analysis for stakeholders across the DSCC and state teams about what early vote data mean for the state of the race.
  • Produce written materials clearly communicating analysis and providing clear and actionable recommendations to program staff
  • Collaborate with other members of the DSCC and state teams to ensure models and early vote analysis are being translated to voter contact programs
  • Build, document, and maintain scalable code to support both ongoing and one-off analysis projects

Skills and Qualifications
  • At least two cycles of political experience
  • Experience using models for analysis and targeting
  • Advanced experience in SQL
  • Advanced experience in Python or R
  • Familiarity (if not direct experience) with early vote data and targeting
  • Experience automating data ingestion, standardization, or QC processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Collaborative approach to working with other teams and partners, and openness to constructive feedback


This position is based in DC. This position is expected to work out of the DSCC office located on Capitol Hill.

The annualized salary for this position is $100,000.
